¹⁵ He said, “You know that the kingdom was mine. All of Israel looked to me to reign. But things changed, and the kingdom is my brother’s, for it is his from the Lord. ¹⁶ Now I beg one thing from you; do not deny me.” She said, “Speak.” ¹⁷ He said, “Please speak to Solomon the king, for he will not refuse you, and ask him to give me Abishag as a wife.”
